At 0300 hrs this morning Task Force 371 (Medford Lakes) was dispatched to the unit block of Manhasset Trail for the dwelling fire. Police on scene reported the dwelling to be well involved.

Additional companies on the first alarm were Engine 431, Station 251, and 252, Station 281 and Station 171 as the RIT. Companies placed several hand-lines in service and an exposure problem to the D side was discovered as fire took out a window on the exposure dwelling and did spread to the interior of that exposure. Quick work by firefighters extinguished the exposure fire allowing the companies to focus on the original fire.

At 0418 hrs a special call was placed for Rehab 13 to respond for support at the scene due to low temps and snow cover. Rehab 13 responded with three units and 8 personnel. Hot food and beverages were supplied, as well as hand and foot warmers for the personnel working the scene.  Rehab also provided ice melt for the scene as well as rest room facilities.

Rehab 13 was released at 0632 hrs and returned to restore and restock the apparatus.
