The Deer Park Fire Company/Rehab 13 is offering for sale its current Rehab Support Vehicle 1386. Our new unit is under construction and will greatly enhance our ability to serve you when you call us. The new vehicle is expected to be delivered on or about June 30, 2013. Once the new vehicle is lettered, equipped, and placed in service the current 1386 will be available for disposition.

Rehab 13 responded to the fourth annual Jeremy Kane Memorial run held at Cherry Hill H.S. East.

Rehab provides liquids and snack foods along with a rest room and rest area during this event.

The event lasted from 0810 hrs until 1030 hrs.

OAKLYN FIRE CALLED DURING HEAVY RAINS FOR A HOUSE - IMMINENT WALL COLLAPS - REHAB 13 SENT FOR FIRE GROUND SUPPORT

Rehab 13 was requested by Oaklyn Fire at 2052 hrs during a heavy rain from tropical storm Andrea. A single family dwelling had a basement wall that was a collapse hazard.

Rehab 13 responded with 8 personnel and two units to handle the assignment. Once on scene it was determined that Rehab 13 would not be tied up due to the efforts of the Technical rescue companies from Cherry Hill and Camden fire departments. The Tech Rescue units were able to build shoring thereby avoiding the collapse of the wall which allowed the incident to terminate much more quickly than anticipated.

U1386 was recalled en route and Rehab 13 was on scene for under one hour. Rehab 13 was restored at 2230 hrs.

OVERNIGHT SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING FIRE IN A VACANT PROPERTY GOES ALL HANDS - WITH A REQUEST FOR REHAB 13 FOR SERVICE

Rehab 13 was dispatched to the unit block of Stafford Ave, Laurel Springs overnight to assist with fire ground support at a vacant dwelling well involved in the early morning hours.

Our request time was 0113 hrs and performed service on scene from 0159 hrs until 0522 hrs when released by Laurel Springs command.

Rehab 13 responded with 7 personnel and 2 apparatus to provide fire ground support for the fire. Units were able to locate a cooling station across from the fire building . Rehab 13 was only able to get a s close as W. Atlantic Avenue due to the numerous apparatus and scene and that the fire building was located on a dead end street.

Rehab 13 provided hot and cold beverages. cooling towels, chairs, rest room, and snack foods as well as hot foods. Rehab 13 was in service from 0159 hrs until being released by command at 0522 hrs. Rehab 13 was stocked and re-supplied by 0620 hrs.

New member Andy Cohan made his first run on this assignment and photos were taken by Captain J. Cundiff.

This was the first response in 43 days for the Rehab company.

VOORHEES MULTIPLE DWELLING FIRE GOES TO A 2ND ALARM THIS AFTERNOON - REHAB 13 SENT ON THE 2ND ALARM DISPATCH

At 1713 hrs the Task Force Alarm box was transmitted for Voorhees Township fire department for a dwelling fire in the Centennial Mills section. This area is a 55 and over development located of off Centennial Blvd., and the unit block of Stokes Rd. at Milford Circle is where the fire was located. Responding units could see smoke in the sky from the distance while en-route.

First arriving units had and end of row 2 story wood frame townhouse with heavy fire in the rear attached 2 car garage that was extending into the garage on the "D" side and into the rear of the dwelling. Several cylinders of propane and other gases were involved. A report of occupants trapped inside the dwelling was reported, but upon arrival the occupants had escaped but a family pet was still inside.

The all hands was struck upon arrival of 6600 and shortly there after the 2nd alarm was requested at 1727 hrs along with Rehab 13, Cascade 65, and PAU 2 for the investigation. Companies went in service with multiple hand-lines, roof venting, and primary search and located the dog that was still inside the dwelling.

Rehab 13 and U1386 responded with 7 personnel and set up next to Quint 66 and went in service from1755 hrs until being released by command at 1954 hrs.

Rehab 13 provided cooling station, hot and cold liquids, light snack foods, and a rest room for personnel operating at the scene. Rehab 13 was re-stocked and ready for service at 2027 hrs.

The fire is under investigation by local and county fire investigators.

CHERRY HILL HONORS THE FOUNDER OF THE CHERRY BLOSSOM PARADE AND CHERRY TREE PLANTINGS ALONG CHAPEL AVENUE

On Sunday April 21st at 1300 hrs the Township of Cherry Hill, mayor and counsel, Camden County Free Holders, and the Police, Fire, and EMS departments held a tribute day and honored Joe Zhangi for his long term commitment to the the formation of the Cherry Blossom Parade and the initiation of the planting of cherry trees along Chapel Avenue.

Thirty seven trees were planted over the past weekend making the job complete along Chapel Avenue.

The day was named Cherry Blossom Day and Mr, Zhangi was presented with a commemorative letter from Mayor Cahn and township council.

Many photos were taken and there were cameras from Action News Channel 6 at the ceremony.

EARLY MORNING FIRE IN BERLIN TWP - 3 OCCUPANTS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT DUE TO SMOKE INHALATION - REHAB 13 TO THE SCENE FOR FIREGROUND SUPPORT

At around 1245 hrs this morning the Task Force box was sounded for the dwelling fire located on Powell Avenue near E. Taunton Rd. First arriving fire units had a 1 1/2 story single family wood frame dwelling with heavy fire showing. CP 2200 requested the "all hands box" along with additional requests for BLS and and ALS unit for three occupants of the home that were suffering from smoke inhalation. Apparently, the occupants tried to extinguish the fire before escaping the dwelling.

Companies went in service with hand lines and two aerial master streams to gain control of the fire that was well advanced from time of arrival.

Rehab 13 was requested after the 40 minute progress report and toned out the Rehab at 0126 hrs.  Rehab 13 responded with three apparatus and 10 personnel and Rehab 13 was able to take a position right behind Ladder 21 which gave us a position across from the fire building.

Rehab 13 provided cold and hot beverages, light snack foods, rest room, and set up chairs for the rest and recovery area. Cooling towels were also made available to all personnel. Rehab 13 operated from 0155 until being released by CP22 at 0448 hrs. Rehab units returned and re-stocked for the next assignment.

Local and County Fire Investigators are engaged in determining the origin and cause of this fire that heavily damaged the dwelling.

REHAB 13 REQUESTED TO RESPOND TO DEPTFORD TWP FOR A DWELLING FIRE - BUT WERE RECALLED ENROUTE

Deptford Twp fire department units had a working fire in the 200 block of Marian Avenue. At 1523 hrs Rehab 13 and Utility 1386 responded with a crew of seven and when the companies arrived at the Rt. 295 and Rt. 42 split were recalled by District 9 (Gloucester County) command and returned to station.

Rehab 13 units were back in station by 1610 hrs.

This is the first recall of the year 2013.


 
2ND ALARM TOWNHOUSE FIRE IN LINDENWOLD ARBORWOOD CONDOS - REHAB 13 CALLED TO THE SCENE

Early Sunday morning the Task Force box was sounded for the Arborwood Condominiums for the building fire. Arriving 1st alarm companies had heavy fire showing from a 2nd floor 2 story MOD. All hands was struck and shortly thereafter a full 2nd alarm was requested by B63. Several master streams and multiple hand lines were placed in service in a defensive mode for fire knockdown and control.

Rehab 13 was requested and responded to the scene with 2 apparatus and 7 personnel and set-up about 100' from the fire building and went in service with hot and cold liquids, chairs, rest room, and light snack foods for the fire and EMS members working the incident.

Rehab 13 was in service from 0318 hrs until 0550 hrs and was released by B63 to return to station.

The fire remains under investigation by local and county officials.
