Rehab 138 was invited to attend the Delaware Gardens Fire Prevention Open House on Monday evening October 23 2006. We helped the 11-4 fire fighters with their presentation by preparing hot dogs coffee hot chocolate and lemonade. Station 11-4 also provided all types of soda. The Pennsauken Fire Prevention Bureau and the Camden County Fire Marshals office were attendance. The Fire Safety Trailer and a mock up for using a booster line was set up for the children.Even though it was the first cold and windy night of the year the turnout was very good. With a crew of seven we set up a mock Rehab rest area with seating so that the public could view what a fire ground rehabiliation unit actually is and what we do on the fireground to support our brother and sister firefighters. At one time the services of the Captain were even ultilized on the interior of 1385 for hot food prep when the lines began to get long. The Captain woking inside is a rarity as he is usually the one keeping tabs on the outside rehab and other services we provide at the fire and emergency scene.A good time was had by all and we look forward to being there in 2007 to help out our friends from the Pennsauken Fire Department. Thanks to FF Magee for coordinating our visit. All photos by Captain Colacicco
