divAt 1702 hours this datenbspPennsauken Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the off ramp at the intersections of Route 90 and Route 130 for a report of an overturned tanker. Arriving units reported same with the driver trapped and fuel leaking. An evaluation was made by EMS personnel on the status of the trapped occupant and the incident quickly escalated to a 2nd alarm with multiple special calls for Hazmat and Foam units from Camden and Burlington Counties to assist with the incident.divdivnbspdivdivAt 1741 hours Rehab 138 was special called on the 2nd alarm as Pennsauken Command knew that this was going to be a long term incident. The prevention ofnbsp fire and containment of the product became the priority once the status of the occupant was confirmed. Foam was applied for ignition control and the area was monitored for ignitiable vapors during the incident. Sand was supplied by the NJDOT to contain the product and runoff from the fire prevention efforts.divdivnbspdivdivRehab 1385 responded with a crew of four to the staging area along Route 130 North andnbspwasnbspdirectednbspto the incident and set up near the Field Communications Unit from Camden County. As this was going to be a long term incident requiring the rotation of fire personnel in and out of the work area a Level II Rehab area was set up and within 5 minutes of arrival was ready tonbspreceive firefighters.nbspSupport 1388 arrived with a crew of four and the balance of the chairs andnbspequipmentnbspneeded for Rehab service were deployed.nbspdivdivnbspdivdivMembers setup all folding chairs water bucketsnbspand towels cooling misters thanks to the Gloucester City FD for an additional mister unit and deployed Gatorade and water to all personnel for the duration of the emergency. At one time early Monday morning after two resupply runs to our quarters and two crew changes we hadnbspexhausted certain supplies and food.nbspMembers nbspwere able to resupply from the Pathmark of Cherry Hill to sustain the operation. This is especially significant as most of the areasnbspsupermarkets that were 24 hour operations no longer provide this service.nbspdivdivnbspdivdivRehab members were able to prepare hot food and beverages light snack foodsnbspand maintained the waternbspGatorade and ice supply for the 14 hours that we were in service.divdivnbspdivdivTo date this is the longest operation that we have been involvednbspin and we have broken all internal records for the amount ofnbspfood and beverages provided bynbspthe Rehab unit. Prior to this assignment the longest in service time occurred in Winslow Township last June at the 5 alarm US Components fire.divdivnbspdivdivRehab 1385 and Support 1388 cleared the scene at 0730 hours and responded to Statiopn 13-3 to refuel the vehicles. All Rehab 13-8 Units were back in service by 0900 hours.divdivnbspdivdivAll photos L. Colacicco Captaindivdivnbspdivdivnbspdivdivnbspdivdivnbspdiv
